Getting your retriever puppy started out right is critical to future success in the field, nurturing an excitement for retrieving as well as the ability to become a trusted companion in the field and at home. Early training creates habits and forms a relationship with the puppy that becomes the foundation for adult behaviors whether it's retrieving birds, playing in the back yard, or succeeding in agility and obedience competition. Sound puppy training creates a partnership that will last forever. Our experience both as trainers and breeders has taught us patience and skill in working with retriever puppies. Our training program is based on respect and is specially designed for dogs under 6 months of age. Early training is an ongoing series of small, gentle lessons that motivate and shape puppy behavior, including: ¨ Introduction to obedience commands ¨ Introduction to birds and retrieving ¨ Introduction to firearms ¨ Introduction to cover and the hunting environment
